Malcesine is situated below the majestic Monte Baldo on the eastern north shore of the lake and has about 3500 residents. Malcesine is one of the most beautiful places on the lake and is therefore also called "Pearl of Lake Garda". Malcesine is characterized by the beautiful old town with narrow streets and the Scaliger Castle, visible from afar. The castle stands on a rock on the shores of the lake and provides a unique view over the city and the northern lake.
